Public sculpture commission for NHS Lothian at East Lothian Community Hospital. Part of a series of sculptures that function as physical rehabilitation aides.
This part of the overall commission at ELCH was to cater for patients at the second phase of physical rehab. the concrete edging was set into the landscape to provide an increasing step-height, with the bollards on top giving opportunity for increasingly complex dodging and weaving exercises. Again, the materials and dimensions used were chosen to mimic those patients may encounter on their return to life outside of a care setting.
